I saw these ultra-cute pajamas by Veranka, a TS3-to-TS2 conversion, and I thought they'd look really cute on my little Sim girls. It took forever to smooth down the boobs and alter the texture so that it didn't look like my Sims were going through early puberty. I'm still not happy with the fat morph, and the knees are doing something weird when they bend; they get really thin, and I'm pretty sure it's a bone assignment/weight issue, but it may take a while to figure out.
Sims 3 clothes have way too many vertices. It's overkill, IMO. The upper arms (which don't bend... unless you're some sort of mutant) don't need four or five rings of vertices! That just makes it a lot more difficult if you want to alter the mesh. I've age-converted a few other TS3-to-TS2 pieces, and on those, I actually took a whole bunch of those arm vertices out because the poly count was so high.
I didn't realize the humerus needed to bend. That's the only reason I can think of for all those extra vertices...
