I saw these ultra-cute pajamas by Veranka, a TS3-to-TS2 conversion, and I thought they'd look really cute on my little Sim girls. It took forever to smooth down the boobs and alter the texture so that it didn't look like my Sims were going through early puberty. I'm still not happy with the fat morph, and the knees are doing something weird when they bend; they get really thin, and I'm pretty sure it's a bone assignment/weight issue, but it may take a while to figure out.
Sims 3 clothes have way too many vertices. It's overkill, IMO. The upper arms (which don't bend... unless you're some sort of mutant) don't need four or five rings of vertices! That just makes it a lot more difficult if you want to alter the mesh. I've age-converted a few other TS3-to-TS2 pieces, and on those, I actually took a whole bunch of those arm vertices out because the poly count was so high.
I didn't realize the humerus needed to bend. That's the only reason I can think of for all those extra vertices...

Shorts... in winter?
My Sims are weird. They like to wear shorts in the middle of winter. Oh, well. I just insist that they wear tights underneath; then they won't complain that they're cold!
These are the teen shorts from Family Fun Stuff (I think... someone correct me if I'm wrong!) but I put them with a pair of Yuxi's boots and some tights. The original teen shorts were low-waisted, but I think I'm going to change that because my little girls never wear midriff-bearing tops (and even if they did, the shorts don't need to sit that low). Back to MilkShape...

Coming Soon...
My Sims are so spoiled. Soon they'll be able to add these v-neck sweaters to their wardrobes. They're a conversion from a Sims 3 top, which I age-converted for kids. The original was just for guys, but I thought my girls might like to wear these, too. I think the girl in the picture above liked the fact that she could match her sweater to her shoes!
I really had to chop up that mesh. There were so many extra vertices on the arms, and they really served no purpose (other than to make the arms look wavy and weird). Maybe Sims 3 Sims are double-jointed or something; why else would they need so many bendy places on their arms? I don't know.

Only 49 more days...
The holidays sneak up on you, don't they? I need to get working on my Sims' holiday attire. Of course, they have plenty of clothes in their closets already... but they always want more!
These dresses are something I thought they would like. I'm going to make something for boys as well, in coordinating colours. Then I'll release the whole works as a set. Now all I have to do is figure out what my Sim boys are willing to wear. They've already told me that they will not wear a suit... so I'll have to think of something else!

Coming Soon...
I've been wanting to do some tops like this for a while... but I kept getting sidetracked by other projects. I'm not sure if they're really in style anymore (styles change so quickly!) but I think they still look pretty cute on my Sims.

Fat morph procrastination
I've hated making fat morphs ever since I learned how to mesh. Very, very few of my Sim children ever get fat (especially since I downloaded The Sim Bouncer for them), so it just seems like a lot of work for nothing. But I know that sometimes chubbiness happens... so those morphs are a good idea.
I just hate making them. Especially when they have alpha mesh parts. And when they're separates. And when I've made more than one piece. Like this set:
Two of the pieces (jacket and skirt) have been sitting on my hard drive for a while. I just got around to making the other two pieces (lace top and shorts) today. But I still haven't made the fat morphs. I figured that if I posted a preview here, then I'll have to follow through and make those stupid fat morphs.
But probably not today.

Coming Soon...
Ooh... shiny! Shiny shoes, that is. I wanted to see if I could make some shiny shoes for my Sim girls, something along the lines of patent leather Mary Janes. I think these come pretty close to what I had envisioned. Still gotta adjust a few things and add some more colours... but I think my Sims will like these.

Coming Soon...
I've been wanting to do some pajamas like this for a while. They're inspired by some of the ones Shirley Temple wore in a couple of her films (Curly Top and The Poor Little Rich Girl both feature Shirley wearing something similar to this).

Coming Soon...
Here's something a little different: clothes specifically for tween girls! I don't want my Sim kids wandering around in suggestive clothing, but sometimes putting a kid who's supposed to be around 10 or 11 in a ruffly, infantile outfit seems a little silly. There's nothing really adult about the dresses (other than the fact that they were resized from a ladies' dress), but they come with a Sim girl's first pair of "high heels" (actually, they're wedges, and they're not all that high). I wouldn't mind a pair of shoes like these for myself!

Isn't this always the way? You get on a roll creating things... and you can't upload them. MTS is going to have one heck of an uploads explosion when it gets its system back online!

Coming Soon...
This dress had been sitting on my hard drive in a half-finished state since the middle of October! I figured I should get it out and just finish it. So I fixed the shadows, made six different colours, and did the fat morph (ugh... fat morphs! What a pain!) and now it's ready to upload... whenever MTS puts its upload system back online.
I just realized that I've had over 3.3 million downloads of my stuff on Mod The Sims! I'm not sure when I crossed the 3 million mark, but it doesn't really matter. One million was mind-blowing enough. I'm just glad that people are still finding value in what I do. It appears there are still lots of people who play The Sims 2... despite the efforts of a certain company to force us to play The Sims 3.

Coming soon... after all this time!
It's been a while, right? I finally -- finally -- got SimPE straightened out. I spent months thinking that Windows 7 was messing things up and that my creating days were over... when in fact I'd merely forgotten to install a plug-in. I could have sworn I installed it last fall when I first tried to get SimPE running on my new machine; however, there were so many problems with installing software at that point that maybe I just put the plug-in on hold to try again later... and never did. Oh, well. It's working now.Just for the record, I still hate Windows 7. Even if it wasn't the culprit in this case, it's still a nasty OS. Give me good ol' XP any day.

Coming Soon...
I know I haven't made much lately. I haven't been feeling that inspired. Plus, I feel like I've made pretty much everything! Short of costumes (which don't get downloaded very much), I'm not sure what else to make. Suggestions would be appreciated. This bolero jacket outfit will be coming soon. I still have to make the fat morph before I upload it. I hate making fat morphs...
